What is DTG Printing?

Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing is a digital printing technology that allows designs, artwork, or images to be printed directly onto garments such as t-shirts, hoodies, and tote bags. Unlike traditional printing methods like screen printing, which involves creating films and applying layers of ink onto the garment with the press, DTG printing involves using specialized printers to print designs directly onto the fabric. At Show Me Logos we have a  DTG printer in-house.

How Does DTG Printing Work?

DTG printing works by loading a garment onto a specially designed platen or printing bed, which is then placed into the DTG printer. The printer applies water-based ink directly onto the fabric, using a combination of CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) colors to achieve a wide range of colors and gradients.

• High-Quality Prints: DTG printing produces vibrant, detailed prints with a soft feel, making it ideal for intricate designs and photographic images. We can use unlimited colors in your design with a DTG print.



• No Minimum Order Quantity: Unlike traditional printing methods that often require minimum order quantities, DTG printing allows for on-demand printing, making it cost-effective for small batch orders or even single custom prints.
  

Limitations of DTG Printing:

• Limited to Cotton: While DTG printing can be used on a variety of garments, it works best on 100% cotton or cotton-faced apparel. Contact us for a list of popular garments that make DTG printing look great. 

• Cost: While DTG printing offers cost-effective solutions for small batch orders, it is not as economical as traditional printing methods for large quantity orders.
